True story: once i ate at some crappy italian joint on the plaza called buco dos beppas or something that was masquerading as a fancy spot but was really just an olive garden with an open kitchen and more framed italian stereotypes on the wall

only good thing about that place was in the bathroom above the urinal there was a black and white picture of a fat kid in like the 1930s sitting on his stoop (for some reason wearing lederhosen) begrudgingly taking a giant bite out of a raw potato, presumably because there was nothing else to eat.

that photo was the perfect analogy for today. Outside of unc/Clemson, all of these games were crap. the college football gods stole my saturday. that said, if youre still hungry for one last hard, uncooked, dirt-covered and bland potato, UCLA is up 17-13 in the 4th

if you took french in hike school or if youre just a french person then you definitely know about spécial pomme de terre.

if you don’t know french it kind of loosely means “special potato”. its a dish where you get something that looks like a baked potato but cut open like how you’d cut open an avocado. The cool thing about this dish is that you lift the top half of the tater and you don’t know what’s on the inside of the potato because it’s chef’s choice. Could be escargot. Could be flamiche. Could be a poop sandwich if you’re a jerk and the waiter can tell you’re not gonna tip

regardless, this Oregon/Cal game has turned into a total spécial pomme de terre. Did not expect much but a crusty spud, yet despite an offensive shitshow,10-7 has been remarkably delightful going into the 4th
