Lower back pain. What the hell? I've consistently worked out forever and continue to do so, but my lower back is basically sore all the freaking time now even when i'm not working out. I know I need to stretch more (or any at all), but what can I do to make this stop? Should I be yogaing?

Yes lots of stretching, maybe find a good physical therapist. Yoga helps but I need to do things specifically to keep my core and hips both stretched and engaged, so like twists, pigeon stretch, cobra, deep lunge stretches, etc.

Every lower back pain is different but I think extended time of cobra/updog has been especially helpful

Thanks. I've been thinking about reaching out to a PT. I'm terrible at stretching. I say i'm going to start a routine and never stick to it. It's really stupid. I've lifted and worked out my entire life consistently without stretching and it's probably catching up now that i'm old as crap. Funny you mention hips, that is a real sore spot for me and if I do stretch I try and do those. I think that happened first and then the lower back followed with the constant soreness.

Might think about a new mattress.

Also, I second core. Sit ups, deadlift, yoga.

deadlift
Way better things to do for core than deadlift dog.

A non-invasive Chiropractor has really helped me.  Try to find one that uses the Torque Release Technique.  There were times where I couldn't stand up out of bed in the morning, but that hasn't happened once since I have been going (several years)

Got notification that I needed to change my work password. It's an annual thing and I was shocked it had been a year. Sort of made me sad that another year flew by.

I get Hinge Health for free through my health plan. It's an app on your phone that connects you with a PT. You tell them what's hurting then they send you stretches to target those areas. For me it was back, knee and hip. It's awesome.

Just started this like a month ago. I think it's helping a bit. I'm pretty sure i've diagnosed my issue to my sneakies. I have a bunch and I think my pain is worse when I wear a couple specific pair. Also, do they just keep sending you fee crap? Like, after every workout, they say, "hey you want a back massager, yoga mat, electronic pain reducer thingy?. I say yes every time and crap just keeps showing up at my house.

I’ve received the massage gun and yoga mat. I’m not expecting any new stuff but I just hit level 20 yesterday so maybe I have something coming.

Beforehand I was just doing stretches I saw on IG from endbackpain or someone else. I like having a pro sending me stretches targeting areas that are bothering me. It has definitely helped my back pain.
