The other day I couldn't remember if I was 34 or 35.  I told the person I was 34.  Turns out I'm 35.
yeah I have this problem on occasion, I also forgot my birthday a couple years ago.

I've been spending more and more time daydreaming about my yard. I've been enjoying yardwork a whole lot more lately. I enjoy just looking out the window at my yard. Today, I bought a bird identification field guide to help me learn the types of birds I see in my yard..

After I mow I stare at my mowing lines for like two solid days and always point out to my wife that I mowed hoping she will comment on the lines or how good the grass is or some shot.

I still mow when I’m free. About 50% of the time.

Mourning Dove
Blue Jay
American Crow
Carolina Chickadee
House Sparrow
American Robin
Northern Cardinal
Red-winged Blackbird
Brown-headed Cowbird

When I was young I always laughed at other kids' dad that threw a baseball half side armed by keeping their elbows low.  Now I get it because I get an immediate pain in my shoulder when throwing overhand.  The only way I can throw anything is by keeping my elbow below my shoulder.

Another sign of getting old is I couldn't be care less how stupid I look throwing that way.

Wow!  Brown-headed cowbirds are few and far between north of Oklahoma.  My favorite brood parasite.

According to my field guide, the edge of their year round range runs right through Kansas. So, that makes sense. I'm in Ohio, which falls squarely within their year round range.

I spotted on of these recently. White-crowned Sparrow.

That's a bird that knows he's better looking than most sparrows, I bet he's a real ass.

okay guys are there some serious birders on this blog? I had no idea it was a thing until a few years ago when i learned that my cousin and my high school biology teacher knew each other because they were both birders and apparently my cousin was kind of seen as an up and coming birder talent and groups of them would go on birding excursions.

I get that sometimes.  I've started stretching before bed and it seems to help.  I used to not even stretch before playing bball or working out, and now I have to stretch before laying down for 8 hours.

sometimes now I'll be like, "oh hell yeah, gonna drink a couple dozen crispy boys" but then I'll think about it and be like, "damn though, some good 9PM sober bedtime sleep would be hot AF as well". I'm at about a 50:50 crispy boys/bedtime ratio right now. It's a good spot for me.

I like a nice brown water slumber but those sober early nights are really refreshing.

I daydream about doing fun stuff (whitewater canoeing, scuba diving, riding motorcycles) more often than daydreaming about boning.  You're definitely old when that boundary is crossed.

so, like, you just sit there working and junk but in your mind you're either doing sex or base jumping or whatever?
