Wow Stephen David (<—old person for steve dave), you are really old. Have your kids started looking at nursing homes for you and Mrs. David yet?
:adios:

I got contacts for the first time in my mid 30s. Only 0.50 prescription though. Turned 40 this year and one is a 1.00 and the other is a 0.75. Those may be minus numbers. I don’t remember.

On this topic I turned 40 this year and am old AF. SAD AND UNFAIR!

The other day I couldn't remember if I was 34 or 35.  I told the person I was 34.  Turns out I'm 35.

I tried out some bifocal contacts last week.  Someone put me out of my misery.   :blindfold:

I turned 31 today and I felt old but as soon as I read that SD is 40 I didn’t feel old at all anymore. Thanks SD!

Just wait until you're old like me and getting a haircut involves more time trimming ear hair and eyebrows

Tripods apparently. I guess I’m 35 in September.

Oh, God. The bifocals suck at first. Which is what they told me would happen.

I decided not to keep the bifocal contacts and went back to my normal prescription.  The slight gain in up close vision wasn't worth not being able to see a blade of grass on a hilltop 10 miles away.  So I am still doing the "old person holding menus and books at arms length" move.

Dad had both hips replaced in his life time.  My sister (a year younger than me) had a hip replaced over a year ago.  My hip started hurting about the time she had surgery.  I had my first cortisone shot today in my hip.  :curse: :curse: :curse:

Had a panic attack in my sleep last night thinking about my age and how death is probably creeping up on me.  :frown:

If it needs to be replaced, do it sooner rather than later.  The cortisone shots only work for so long and the recovery is MUCH easier the younger you are.  I am almost 44 and had mine done a couple years ago FWIW.

Just got another cortisone injection in my shoulder the other day. Doing everything I can to not have shoulder surgery number FOUR. I'm 35.

Side note: It stemmed from a Navy injury, so not necessarily an "old person" problem, but damn...

Also, ftr, steroid injections don't work for everyone. I had nearly a dozen of them between surgeries 1 and 2 and they didn't do crap. Navy docs just wouldn't listen, and your choices are a bit limited while active duty.
