Yeah, and huge LOL at the idea of a "fair price" for any of this rough ridin' crap.

The fact that it's just sitting there holding at the $60K level, while slowly building up its "X days moving average" seems to suggest that $30K is unlikely unless some kind of really bad totally unexpected regulatory thing happens.  These trader dudes look at that moving average like it's the gospel and regard it as a "floor" to "bounce off of."

Crypto TA is like counting cards at a black Jack table.  They are looking at signals that indicate next moves and trying to get a better than 50/50 chance of it being correct. The floor price could evaporate with major fuckery in the very short term but no a 50% drop.

Personally, I am *this* close to pulling the trigger on a large (for me) BTC purchase.  If I get $60K on the nose, I will be happy with that, but I will probably buy at less than $65K by the end of next week if it hasn't dipped like that.

I am too scared to go very big on anything more alt-ish than ETH, so I kinda stopped following everything but BTC and and ETH very closely.  I am a pretty big fan of Benjamin Cowen and his youtube series "Into the Cryptoverse."  He's a Ph D engineer and mathematician who is pretty level headed about all this, and does a very nice job of explaining the thought process of traders as they look at this stuff, and the market cycles and so forth.  He's a good follow on twitter and YouTube.

This gal is also a pretty good watch on Youtube, but this is more just macro level industry news, with some occasional deep dives into various concepts.  https://www.youtube.com/c/UnchainedPodcast

So what percentage % of everyone's liquid portfolio (cash, stocks, crypto, bonds, t-bills, IRAs/401Ks) is made up of Crypto at this point?

I'm at ~35%. According to most pundits, this makes me a dumbass and overly leveraged in the crypto game.

If you are including retirement that seems really high but could be from your huge gains in crypto?

Yes, includes retirement investments.  Was at ~10% last fall before everything took off so definitely big gains from crypto. Have not sold or bought anything significant since then either.....

Crypto is not a significant portion of my overall stuff right now, but I hope that it will be within the next few years.  And, that is NOT because I am moving any of my SP500 index fund money to crypto (I won't do that), and instead because the crypto I have and continue to buy just rough ridin' moon shots.

Since your cost basis is fairly low I would say you’re mostly not a dumbass.  Also, putting 10% of your assets into crypto a year ago is pretty ballsy, so congrats on that.

If I were 25, I'd put it all in crypto until BTC either hits several hundred K, or just goes bust.  eff it.

My crypto is like 2%. It's not really an asset I think of as part of my investment strategy, just eff around cash.

a) your definition of "liquid" including IRA/401ks is strange.
b) I'm at about 2% including things I would actually not call liquid (IRAs, 401Ks, 529s, 403s, etc.). But I'm at like 10% of actual liquid (cash, brokerage, savings, etc.). And that seems to be way over allocated but, like was already pointed out, a big chunk of that is gains.

this was where I was but now it's grown to be irl money. irl money I don't want to pay a shitload of taxes on though so it's just going to stay there.
