Congrats bud! Another farmhand, but she won't be able to spray chemicals until she is 18.

2.5 year observations

pros to having kids
-you may not die alone in a nursing home with nobody ever visiting you
-they are awesome and fun

cons to having kids
-they cost too much money and you have to get connecting hotel rooms or a suite when travelling
-constantly being terrified something may happen to them

not pros or cons
-some stuff you used to enjoy now seems like trivial bullshit, some stuff you enjoy now would have seemed pretty stupid prior to having kids

I think most things that are now trivial to me are things I would have grown out of with or without kids.

sd, some observos for when they get older-

my oldest son, age 27, has been in and out of jail since he was busted stealing cigarettes from a machine when he was 16.  i've done all i can for him but he seems to be the wild mustang of the group.  my daughter, age 22, is now pregnant herself which we are all proud of.  i've done all the encouraging i can do for that one.  i'd love for her to get married but she just doesn't seem like the marrying type i suppose.  both are huge cat fans and love to watch the cats when we get together.

i wish i never had them but they're here so gotta make do.

Sometimes I wish I had a kid just so I would have an excuse to do some fun things, but then I realize what a pain in the ass the kid would be the rest of the time and I realize that fun thing isn't worth it. (Or else I just go do the fun thing with my nephew.)

Now that I think about it, I actually don't remember much being important to me back then. Maybe watching every KSU Cats game? Who knows.

My kid did her own laundry this week. Once they are old enough to do chores then you are set. Goddamned set.

Your son is a huge BA though, I bet he has been with Beems level of ladies.

At 4-5 yo soccer. The best kid by far is totally decked out in cleats, long socks, and shin guards. Fine. Whatever. But, get this. Whenever he bumps into another kid, his body goes totally limp, he collapses to the ground, lies there for 20-30 seconds, and may even curl up and roll around a bit before he finally gets up. GMAFB, kid. You're not fooling me.

I've never really wanted kids.  But I am uncle to a bunch of nieces and nephews. I am amazed by how great it is to hang out with them and then send them home.

Bit of truth here. I've only mowed twice all summer. 14 year old daughter is a zero turn driving fool. 10 year old runs the battery powered trimmer. I just observe and have a cold one.
