Looks like somebody's getting a new Ford Fusion!

David Beaty earns $25K bonus for each Big 12 victory. That was his first in 16 league games in 2 years at Kansas

— Brett McMurphy (@McMurphyESPN)

Solid ride tho.   :dunno:

Totally.

What's the opposite of Kingmaker?
"How will I recruit to Manhattan? Well, distance. And the proud state of basketball. It start there, and then daily flights to Dallas, because I'm really good at going out. Like top five good. Ask my wife. She wants me to be happy."

It seems like that's the only report and it's being questioned.

He's rich. He's a joke.

I wish I was both of those together

Don't feel sorry for him. How they lost today (the way it played out) is almost as shocking as Tcu pulling off upset over Ku in hoops couple years back

Why is he a joke?

Charlie deserves better than Texas.  If anything is a joke it's that fan base and athletic program.

I'm sure Charlie will learn from this experience and perform much better at his next job.

"Joke" is a bit too harsh.  However, there is no such thing as "bad fit for UT."   There are simply coaches-that cannot-win-with-every-advantage and those that can.

Most coaches cannot.

I believe that the majority of power 5 D1 coaches could post more wins than losses at Texas.

Some coaches don't do well in an environment where you have to give your top 5 donors handies behind the caddyshack because they are more powerful than the AD.

Completely agree MiR.  Strong wasn't walking into a *fair chance* job.  He was walking into an uphill battle while having to change an entrenched culture and remake a program.  If anyone here took a second to see what McCombs said in public, imagine the crap that was being done behind closed doors.

Side note: Care to wager how many times McCombs called Strong "boy?"  :sdeek:

Have a friend who's a big horns fan and has family friends that are big boosters. Apparently a Tom Herman deal is already in the works and could have been why Texas didn't want Houston to join this next year. If Houston becomes a big 12 team he has no reason to leave Houston. Texas has wanted him since before the beginning of season. Never liked Charlie because of  :opcat:
