According to the report, the president believed that other photographs of the event may prove his claim that there were more people at the inauguration than what was previously reported by the press.

The coverage on this a little alarmist, but yeah, it is not good.

1) they didn't quit; they were told to go (and a few hit mandatory retirement, which kicks in on Jan 31 and a few others hit something akin to "term limits" for their position/grade)
2) it's not even close to "all" the senior leaders
3) it's still a horribly mumped up transition.

Why would you kick out people in key positions who were openly willing to work through a transition even while knowing they were unlikely to be reappointed before you have any nominees ready to replace them?

The mistake was later corrected, it was reported. Teresa May is the name of a former glamour model and porn actress who starred in films including Whitehouse: The Sex Video and Leather Lust.
