Apparently most of America is racist.

actually no.  Less than 47.2%
So then most of America loves a criminal? Makes sense. Sounds like everyone is evil.

<-- moderate   :combofan:

Try me MIR!

I'd be happy to hear your moderate policy positions.

I'm for same sex marriage.  I'm for them adopting and raising children.  I am for some environmental regulation.  I'm not hawkish by any means.  I'm certainly against the Patriot Act, although I'm not sure that qualifies.

So you have one liberal policy position, gay marriage? Not sure why you mentioned adoption though. I have one conservative policy position, I'm not a moderate.

Here's a dumb question... Why do we want more manufacturing jobs?  As someone who worked in a couple of factories I can confirm they're shitty jobs.

They're better than a lot of jobs, and they're also better than no jobs.  Germany has done a lot to bolster it's mfg jobs with huuuuuuge growth in high-tech mfg, which is where we should go because we can absolutely compete with Germany in this arena.

I did not like that quiz.  Most of the answers were too extreme.

I'm already sure I'm liberal.

i took it and got solid liberal, retook it answering one question (maybe two, can't recall for sure) differently and got business conservative.

I'm not really advocating or disagreeing with you with that link.  I just saw that story on FB and thought it was relevant.

I think manufacturing jobs were good back when they paid well.  With all the union busting legislation in the past 20 years, manufacturing jobs suck because they don't pay much more than the average service job.

If I could make 80K putting together a 1000 widgets a day, then yeah... that might be a good job.  But those jobs pay about $30K a year now.  I worked with guys who lost fingers in the factory.  Most of them thought they were lucky because the $10K per knuckle paid for their new Dodge Ram.  In my 20 years of working in offices, never met anyone who lost a limb at work.

I like the isidewith quiz. Gives a good spectrum of options and tells you the candidate you are most closely aligned with ideologically, plus gives a breakdown of where you fall in the political spectrum. It's a good 15 minute commitment though.

When I took it, I was literally right in the middle: centrist.

Maybe everyone that you know. I got Gary Johnson by over 90%. Bernie was a distant second, though.
