I've seen estimates of the mortality rate of measles as high as 3 in 1000 and estimates of the COVID mortality rate as low as 1 in 1000. The mortality rate ranges seem to be pretty similar.

My understanding is that measles' transmissibility (R₀) is much higher than COVID which, for me, would make it more deadly.

Measles is incredibly contagious in unvaccinated populations.
Fortunately, there is an incredibly safe and effective vaccine!
