There really is a disproportionality between the amount of dislike for Clinton and the amount that her actions would typically warrant. It's like the disproportionality between the amount of dislike for Obama and the amount that his actions would typically warrant. That's no surprise, though. We have plenty of sexism and racism in this country.

Nobody hates Hillary because she's a female. They hate her because she's a criminal, a dirty "common named" politician, a liar, and she comes off like an ass hat.

I think the disproportionate dislike for Hillary is just because she typifies the "establishment" so well, which makes her a lightning rod for people's disgust with politics as it currently is.

I do believe she'd lose to most other republican candidates, but if you put her in against someone like Boehner, you'd see a lot less of the criticisms currently thrown at her because they'd also generally apply to him.

There are absolutely people that think she is unqualified because she is female.

Very few dumbasses feel that way, but yeah, there's a lot of dumb reasons why certain ppl vote for other candidates.

Sure, but there are probably just as many if not more people who would vote for her no matter what because she is female. It was the same thing with Obama. Both viewpoints are unfortunate. Even more unfortunate is that this corrupt, contemptible liar, who has somehow skated out of one scandal after another, may very well be rewarded with the presidency because the GOP didn't nominate one of any number of decent, qualified candidates in the primary.

in terms of its effect on future society, voting for obama solely because he is black is arguably still the most valid reason for voting for him.

Would a man version of Hillary even won the nomination?  I have my doubts.

And Fiorina and Bachman.

I think the fact that Clinton's a woman ranks below her being a Clinton, establishment, democrat, robotic, and unethical, on the "Reasons People Dislike Hillary" list.

If she were a man, we'd have probably locked him up by now.

Duh, in nearly 8 years as president being born 1/2 black remains his most significant accomplishment.

I think the perception that she is robotic is mainly due to her being a woman - either because people have a double standard on how men/women should act and/or because of the things she has had to do to overcome the fact that she is a woman in a typical male dominated field.

Are there other female politicians that get criticized for being robotic? I haven't noticed that, but then again, "robotic" isn't a criticism I hear much regarding Clinton, either.

I wasn't really even thinking about voting numbers. And I do understand why people would not have a positive impression of her. I just don't see mountains of justification for such widespread negative views, the second lowest favorability rating of all time.

With Trump, on the other hand, I can completely understand his low favorability rating.

She's also a product of the times.  Congress has the lowest favorability rating of all time and it's still dropping.  People's view of politics and politicians in general has never been lower.

I mean, people killed Rubio for being overly scripted too.  And Cruz for being insanely unlikeable.

I stand by my original point that her being a woman is probably not a significant factor among her detractors.

It would be nice if a woman could be president without her husband being president first
