im shocked, since the fried crust of any CFS i've ever had is arguably the greatest texture experience i've found in food.... like, did you get a soggy CFS once and hate them forever?

True story:  for brunch today, I ALMOST ordered chicken fried steak, but got chocolate chip pancakes instead.  It's maybe the 2nd time in my life that the chocolate chip pancakes have won a head to head matchup with chicken fried steak at a brunch spot.  I can't explain it.

You guys should make your own, just to appreciate what goes into a good CFS. It's a lot of work but so much feels when you can do it right.

When you gut down some failures, that short order one that was passable seems so much better.
It makes you appreciate a place that pan fries one versus deep frying.

Haven't read the whole thread but did you guys discuss how chicken friend steak can be eaten for breakfast, lunch, or dinner?  That's a huge plus, IMO.

Also I prefer to give it the respect it deserves by typing out chicken friend steak and no abbreviations.

Grizzly's and Texas Star both had great CFS.  Coco Bolo's was the best of the three though.

Not the Marie Calendar's I had; the cfs a really small amount of potatoes and the white gravy were in the same section of the dish.
