Take out the word common, I agree. His eyes got him in trouble alright. He hauled ass to the line of scrimmage, but then didn't even see the Bama TE run right by him. 88 was 10 yds behind him before He knew what was happening.
Maybe common isn't the right word, but I wasn't surprised by it. Its the Art Briles Baylor concept of spreading the defense and throwing underneath bubble and now routes to the sideline. Eventually you will get the defense guessing, especially in that case with a TE there. My point is that it was great offense more than it was terrible defense. Granted, its a big defensive mistake, but its created by great playcalling IMO.
