younger ones.   they recommend as long as you can based on the car seat limits, but at least until age 2

i had none at all.  the front bench seat from driver side to passenger side went like this:  dad, dad's six pack, me, mom.

of course sometimes i liked to sit in the back seat because the driver side back seat floor had a hole the size of a baseball rusted through it and i could watch the road fly by below me.  was fun to grind sticks on the road as we cruised down the highway.

My dad didn't own a shitbox with a hole in floor, we stood on the seats with our heads out the sunroof of mom's 73 Tbird unless we were turning left and had to hold the passenger door from opening.

Wait, 6yr olds can't ride in a car without extra equipment?

no, they need a booster seat to raise them up so that seat belts work properly, or a device like the mi-fold that instead pulls the belt down into position.

good god.  i had no idea.  i think i need to go find a pussification of america group to join.

My dad's car didn't even have seatbelts when I was a kid. Now kids have to have a booster seat until they are like 85 lbs and/or 4'9" or something which could be upto and passed driving age.... :sdeek:

you can't make children ride in those things until they hit puberty and not expect it to effect their emotional health.  i can't believe there aren't people marching in the streets about this.

The minivan we rented to pak in Stillwater for the game oscar and spradling lost to give the squawks a share of Angel's 'ship was really fun.

I think my buddy in the seattle suburbs had your same criteria and likes whatever he got. I'll see what it is.
Yes I sat in the third row (kids seats were installed in the second row) of whatever that thing was and was quite comfy on the way out to the falls.

The Dodge Grand Caravan I rented last year for a trip to Colorado is probably the nicest vehicle I've ever driven/ridden in. That may speak more to my experience riding in fancy cars, but it was really nice all around.

Leathered out, all the amenities, tons of space, a lot of power and pretty tight handling. It felt great driving it. You forget you're in a minivan.

You can get one bossed out for a hair under $40k.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

It really explains a lot of the things we are seeing on college campuses.

Late to this party.... I'd go audi q7. Had the q5 and loved it. Their tech is even better now. Have an mdx now and it's great for tailgating and road trips  (only reason it was purchased) but it's boring to drive and the tech is meh....it does have a lot of the amenities you are looking for though... vented seats and a nice entertainment package in the back.

not only does a 5 series have enough room in the back for the little steve dave and little stephanie dave, but its also a huge chick magnet.
I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

do you even porsche, bro?  by the time he adds options he'll be close to $90k.  their base models are truly base.

Sounds like seat kicking will be an issue regardless. I'd spend 25 on a CRV and find a better use for the other 40.

MDX has plenty of room to sit all the way back and not get kicked I think... Never had kids in it to test but leaves a lot of leg room in the second row.
