I'm very good at crosswalks.  When I walk up to a crosswalk, no tentativeness by me.  Walk right through it because those are the rules.  No game of "are you gonna go or should I go" with oncoming cars because that's my crosswalk and if the car has a problem with it, that's too damn bad for him.

On the other hand, when I drive and I approach a cross walk and someone wants to play the "should I walk" game with me at a crosswalk, I yell and make motions with my hands for them to cross.  "IT'S A CROSSWALK.  HURRY UP AND WALK!"

smdh.  Millenials today don't know how to go up and grab the brass rings at crosswalks.

you know how at crosswalks in most cities, people know they can cross when there are no cars coming (even if you have the "Don't Cross" symbol)? well in Germany people never ever ever disobey the cross walk symbol. it is fascinating.

Midnight in Munich walking back to our apartment... Completely dead street... No cars... No people... Get to don't walk sign... Stop for a second... No cars... Start going... One lone voice yells at us from afar that "red means stop"  or whatever.

If I'm going to cross the street and I see a car coming that will obviously get through the intersection before I do, then I pretend I'm not about to cross the street so the driver doesn't have that "are you going to go or should I go" moment.

I also like driving my olderish vehicle. Especially at the Catholic school where my kids go. Everyone is driving Range Rovers, Escalades, BMW's, Porsche, a couple of Teslas and Jags, and I drive up in my crap show with 125,000 miles.

I enjoy judging you when I pull up.

Then, I'll drive the new Odyssey when I know you are going to be around. That is really impressive. Sometimes the kids will say, "take Mom's van because my friend XXXXXX is going home with us and your Pacifica is embarrassing."

I am dobber in this situation, except that my vehicle is even older and crappier. my kids are old enough that they are now both embarrassed by it and everyone wants me to get a new vehicle. guess what though? not happening! jokes on them.
