Author Topic: Wildcat Salute! (Read 125485 times)

So today has been a very sad day for me. I came outside this morning to take my dog out, thinking ahhh...someone's got their fireplace going...looked over to my left, and AHHHH!!! My LHC Bill Snyder tree was smoldering. :'( Not sure how I can get the black molted plastic and burned parts sanded off / out of it and it recarved on the backside before it rots during the spring rains. :'( Not to mention why my neighbors didn't alert me that my tree was on fire!?!?!?! I lost 2 Reese Fruit Farm boxes, all of my plastic edging, my electrical box was still hot, and the mulch around it...Thanks Kansas wind for blowing the tarp over it (to keep ice out of it this winter) onto the halogen light that I had been trying for the past 2 weeks to get changed into a cooler LED bulb but couldn't find one strong enough, and caught fire. I am just sickened.

I've said that for a long time. I agree with it. Only I think his line of thinking should have prevented oscar from being hired in the first place.

To me, HOW you made the tournament is much more telling about the direction of a program than IF you made the tournament. Sneaking into the tournament after a slow start where you had to fight back and have a great finish to the season leads to optimism about the future and coach, whereas a good start devolving into an embarrassing finish where you only get in because it's an awful field and you managed to not be quite as awful as a couple others leads to a much different opinion about the direction of the program despite perhaps identical seeds in the tournament.

Yes you have, I thought of you when I read it. I tend to agree as well, if you thought oscar should be fired last week (or last year) then nothing has happened to change that.

I'm with ChiCat on this one. Making the postseason is an important benchmark (maybe the only benchmark) for coaches at decent schools.

At literally any other job where you are in a similar managerial/GM/CEO position, it is unforgivable to fail to hit minimum performance expectations three years in a row.

To 33's point, you can also look to the actual coaching and team trajectory throughout the year to judge a coach, which is why I think most of us agree oscar should be gone regardless. But failing to make the Tournament once again should be automatic.
