Think we are on like the 10th homeowners carrier (we just bind the lowest wind deductible, currently NONE!!!) but we've been with USAA for auto for a bit.

Thanks. I’ll definitely be looking into a broker. It’s partly my fault. We’ve been with Allstate for 7 years, and before that State Farm for probably 15. I agree the only way to get a decent price is to change. Thats what I do with electric and telecom companies.

Our Subaru needs a new head gasket that will cost more than the car is worth with a good head gasket. I don't want to replace it because we don't need a car but I am getting overruled.

I'm thinking the lowest mileage Honda or Toyota under $10k (or the cheapest with less than 125k miles). Maybe a Honda Fit?
Lexus CT200h would be a great one. Small hatchback, same reliable hybrid system as the Prius, a few nicer luxury features. You could definitely find one for less than $10K.

True story. I called Allstate today for a quote to see what it would cost to add a 2025 GMC Sierra to my policy. They let me know it would be an additional $3500 per year.

Thats on top of the $4000 I already pay for a 4 year old Ford Expedition and an 11 year old Honda SUV. Neither my wife nor I have had a ticket or an accident in 20 years. We also both have 835+ FICO scores.

Home and auto insurance in Texas has become insane. Anybody in DFW have a much better solution?

Your first call should be Esurance. They are owned by Allstate. I did that like 10 years ago and my rates were like half. I've never had any issues with claims or anything. I haven't shopped around in a while, but the last time I did Esurance was way cheaper. An Allstate guy called me a couple years ago saying he could get be a better deal if I came back. I was like sure, shoot me the numbers. Still not even close to what i'm paying and it's basically the same company.

I went to Esurance, put in my zip code and they redirected me to Allstate and said Allstate is who handles insurance in my state (Kansas).

The fit would be easy to park. And they did get really high reviews.
Everything is easy to park if you're allowed to bump the cars in front of and behind you

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

still the shorter the better! I was surprised at how short my 2009 Forester was compared to most built since. Like all Sedans and SUV's are longer, even like a Rav4 or CRV

Do you guyz have another car for daily driving or never go on any road trips? That seems like crazy low mileage for everyday use over 20+ years. I average about 10k miles a year but I guess alot of that is a 700 mile round trip to the cat ranch multiple times a year.

I love this idea a lot but there isn't much for sale.

I have a company truck for work so my truck just sits alot.  A lot of my miles are annual/ semi annual trips to Wyoming.

What is the best place/option to sell an old used car these days? I've got a 2006 4WD V6 Rav4 with 180k miles on it that I'm going to be selling soon.

I bought it on FB marketplace with 160k miles as a farm/visionquest vehicle 4 years ago for 5k but now its time to let it go. I looked at FB Marketplace tonight and it seems like 90% of the posts are just junk or random small time car dealers, nothing from actual individuals.

Would FB Marketplace be the best bet? CarMax? Something else I don't know of?

I donated $50 to Clams Patreon 6 months ago for inside Katz information and lombard coupons but haven't received either. So much for being in the dorms with Avery Johnson's BFF from Wichita.

FB Marketplace. Be prepared for a dozen lowball offers and a few requests to let them make payments to you.

I don't think CarMax buys cars that old, I could be wrong.

FB marketplace although it'll annoy the crap out of you as it's basically an internet garage sale. I also sold a vehicle on craigslist about 2 years ago (yes it's still a thing!) it also as of a couple of years ago is going to cost you 5 whole dollars to list it now a days.
