not to be a car brand guy, but like if those are your final 3 and prices are comparable, i think we all know the right choice here
Idk.  I assume you're talking about the highlander.  And the toyota allure is strong.  But the others are bigger, which is also alluring.

We'll see.

Does Kia still offer the bumper-to-bumper warranty? Because you'll definitely need that.

I don't think it's an obvious choice, either. Those Tellurides are pretty sweet.

I think I prefer the palisade, even though they're basically the same car.

Final 3:

2023 Toyota Highlander XLE - 21k miles
2024 Hyundai Palisade SE
2024 Kia Telluride LX

Prices are relatively comparable.  Test driving tomorrow.
Ruled out the Grand Highlander?

I guarantee that the Hyundai and Kia ride a lot smoother than the Toyota. It’s not 2012 anymore, Kia and Hyundai have surpassed Toyota in quality.

We've been looking lately and I love the palisade. My neighbor has a Grand Highlander (I know you send it's more than you want to spend) and it's very cool.  I don't know if I think it's that much better than the Palisade. I will say, we've been fighting with Hyundai over replacing a defective motor in our Sonata since November and I'm probably done with them after this.

Toyotas always sound cheap to me while driving them. Like hollow and cheap. Honda/Acura for us.

Type S MDX is probably next ride.

Thought about that but people apparently hate the electronics in it.

Don’t sleep on a Toyota Sienna Hybrid for you and your growing brood. Room for 8 and 35 mpg. If you get the Palisade get it in “wine” color w a blacked out grill and put a ksu license plate on back and powercat plate on front and we can be twins. Well, you and Mrs nicname anyway
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Quick note on Kia and Hyundai:  my insurance guy told me that the insurance cost on those can be very expensive due to how easy they are to steal.  Not sure if Kia and Hyundai have resolved that yet, but as up the update they did last year, they hadn't.   My rep told me that he had customers who were paying double and triple to insure those vs other similar sized vehicles.

Note #2: we just looked at highlanders explorers and went with the explorer.  It was more comfy(if you need legroom and headroom) and was less.  Having driven it for a couple of weeks now, we like it a lot.

If you are confident that you will drive a car for 10+ years, then the data says Toyota/Lexus is your best bet. Honda/Acura is a good one too. All indications are that the Hyundai and KIA are well on their way to being in that class, but they just don’t have as long of a track record of reliability….sure seem high reliability now tho.

I currently have 3 hondas; 2020 ridgeline (me) 2015 odyssey (wife), 2022 hrv (daughter) and a 2002 Tacoma (son).  The plan is to drive them forever.

If you fully intend to trade it, crap, just buy what you enjoy driving.

I'm still a ways out, but have been looking at the EV 6. Not sure I want something that big since Mrs SF drives the SUV and I have a Model 3, but they seem pretty sweet. Struggling with buying a KIA though, which I know is stupid. If Mark Cuban can drive one, I sure as crap should be able to get over it. Still have my R2 reservation, so hopefully that actually comes out and is close to specs and price, but 2-3 years is a long time in car building land.

I was fine with a minivan and think it actually makes the most sense.  But Mrs. DQ thinks that if we have a minivan, she ought to be the one that drives it.  Told her there ain’t no law against having two minivans, but I kind of get her point that she wants one non-minivan car.

My mind is almost made up on the telluride/palisade, but we’ll see if test drives throw any “speedbumps” (lol) on that plan.

Good luck. Test driving the 3 is obviously the best plan, but then you will have to deal with car sales guy 3 different times which is going to be the worst. Buying a Tesla was the best thing ever. Logged in, hit buy, and then picked it up. It ruled. Rivian the same. It was crazy covid time when I bought Mrs SFs car and I found one in Colorado. Had it all worked out including the trade before I drove to pick it up. It was sitting there in the front of the lot when I got there and thought it was going to be a breeze. I was still there 4 hours dealing with their bullshit.

Buying low mileage Hondas and driving them until the wheels fall off is an outstanding transportation value.

Good choice! What are the differences between a telluride and palisade. I know they’re almost identical.
One thing I will say is that all the driver assist features are really great. I complained about them earlier but why are really nice.

Frankly I just liked it more.  Leather seats on the base model.  Liked the feel/inside bells/whistles a little more.

Idk hard to explain.
