my 05 with 150k needs a new AC and this is the last straw for me. would have liked to squeeze another year out of it but it wasn't meant to be. car shopping is super fun and also the worst thing in the world

What kind of car are you looking for?

jeeps and 4runners. i've been in a car-based awd crossover for 7 years and it's like just give me the real thing now please

There's a 2020 Ford Bronco coming out soon! Top and doors will be removable like a Wrangler.

Another 100K easy.

Keep the oil change, change the timing belt every 100K (or believe it's just a Honda gimmick to get you to pay for an expensive repair since Honda's supposedly don't need any repairs . . . which reminds me of the time when Acura was just a couple of years old and a friend bought one from a dealership that was also a GM dealer.   The GM service bays were full of nearly new GM cars and the Acura service bays were empty despite the fact they'd sold a crap ton of Acura's from day one).

If you want more of a real thing I'd go with the 4runner myself, unless you're talking Cherokee . . . otherwise I wouldn't touch a Jeep.

also i don't put many miles on per year so gas mileage does not matter at all to me

New Cherokees are cheap crap IMO. Had a couple different rentals (^^^ as noted above). They sucked.

The list of non-truck vehicles for serious off-roading that almost no one actually does is very short. Wrangler, 4Runner, Land Rover (?), 2020 Bronco.

I had a 1997 Wrangler Sahara in college and it was so horny. Top, doors, anything off. It was a hornwagon.
