I talked about this in the movie thread, but I watched Carousel the other night and I would not recommend it.

I'm trying to brush up on some of the classics that I haven't seen.  I think West Side Story is next (embarrassed that I've never seen any version of this), then maybe South Pacific.

I have performed as an adult in junior versions of Into The Woods, Wizard of Oz, Schoolhouse Rock Live, and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.

Into the Woods was a stupid movie.

Was pretty LOL in that my wife hates musicals and we were at the theater and they start singing and she was like, "wait, is this a musical?!???"

Its a great show that didn't translate into film very well at all, not sure why anyone thought it would have, bad concept.

this is one of the great numbers in musical theater, imho. right up there with One Day More and Climb Every Mountain and Can You Feel The Love Tonight.

best musical experiences:

1. Once, The Musical - this show will shake you up. it's not a love story, it's a life story. is that cheesy? eff you, you haven't had feelings till you see this musical.
2. Newsies - it's good cause it has tons of action and you wish you had a cause and could dance.
3. Les Mis - you wish you had a cause and a love story for the ages and could sing.
4. RENT - a person could see this show eight times and it would mean more every time, i bet. it's about "friendship" and "love" like Shawshank Redemption is about "redemption."
5. whatever - other stuff has pretty songs, but no rough ridin' heart.

some of his selections and omissions just seem odd if we're not counting movie musicals.  notably, Moulin Rouge.

Canadian guy I know used to be in musicals wen he was younger.  In the rank of poon hounding it goes Quarterback > Lead in Musical/Play > Point Guard > rich kid with best car in school.

I am not a fan of musicals for the most part. But this is one I would like to see.

Lead in Musical/Play > Point Guard

Not sure if this is true.

The Wichita Theatre League schedule for this year includes:
Wicked (I've already seen but want to see again)
Broadway Christmas Wonderland
Once
Dirty Dancing
Stomp*

*Optional season add-on or swap out.

Should I get season tickets?

Dirty Dancing seems super cheesy.  I'd really like to see wicked.

I could buy season tickets and get other people to go to the other shows. Would probably be worth it to get the Wicked tickets early.

You misunderstood me.

I was asking whether the list you compiled only consists of musicals you've seen live.
