Gave a Stanley thermos to a drive-thru starbucks millenial to fill.  He filled it too full to put the top back in.  Gave to me and he saw me dump a little out and screw on the top.  "Oh, sorry, I've never seen one of those before."

I have no idea what this is. If I worked at Starbucks, used to work at the one at the union, I would have gave you what you wanted in a venti or trenta cup and told you to pour it in your old man thermos yourself.

Don't those grampa thermoses hold like 2 gallons of coffee? Does Starbucks even have a size that big to charge you for?

They hold an entire pot. I used to consume an entire pot of coffee out of those daily. Holy eff.

I'm  because the stupid kid had never seen and therefore did not know how to use a ubiquitous thermos design.  I didn't complain to his face or scoff or sneer or anything.  Calm down people.

as a certified 94% non-millenial, i've never heard of such a thing.  what do they charge you for non-standard refills and how do you go about requesting them?

They charge me the same as a venti (large).  I just tell them I have a thermos and that's how they ring it up.  Been doing this for years and this was the first time the kid mentioned he had never seen one before.  Probably because he's wasted his life playing video games.

can you order anything you want to go in it?  do you show them the size of the thermos before they decide the charge?  if it's on with the order mic before the cashier window, do you ever get to the window after placing the order and they see the thermos size and then change the price?  how big is your thermos?  do you just give them the thermos body, no cap, and they hand it back to you open?  isn't that a liability issue for them?  also, is your thermos opening/smell gross?

is this a common thing they do all the time or are you the only one in the world who does it?
