Wacky, Nigel Johnson was a very objectively bad point guard. He never even sniffed a 2-1 a/to ratio. The closest he got was 1.5/1, and that is just terrible. He was bad at basketball. He buoyed his 3p% his sophomore year by having three out of body experience type games, but other than that, he was a bad shooter as well (shooting 20% from behind the arc in all other games, and under 30% his freshman year as well, which was also buoyed by a couple of ridiculous performances surrounded by 17% shooting from behind the arc in all other freshman contests). He sucked. Anything positive to be found in his stats can be linked back to a handful of games, literally like five good games in two years of college basketball. He was horrible. We are so bad now that he actually would have value on this team, but that is an indictment of oscar's recruiting and in no way an endorsement of Nigel's Johnson basketball skill, which was minimal.
There's no way to back this up statistically other than his minutes played, but Nigel couldn't guard anyone.

He might get minutes over Ervin.Johnson was a big reason we beat KU and ISU, so in a way I can see why wacky is overvaluing his play, but its still really weird. Also, I often morphed Nigel with Wesley and kept calling one or the other "Wesley Johnson", who was actually the former Cyclone and Orangeman who is now in the NBA.
I like Nigel. I miss liking our players.

I really like DJamer, Stokes, Brown, and Wade. I go back and forth with Wes, but mainly like him. I'd take all of those guys over Nigel.
To be fair, basketball really is basically a two game season for ole wackster.
