I like 3PO pointing out that his arm his red, but no reasoning for his arm being red, or if it even mattered.

Me and Dmartinjr had a discussion on whether the sith is still around. I don't remember the sith being mentioned in any of the first three movies. After the prequels, I assumed it died off, and a new "evil" came to power (even though Palpetine is still around).

So is the sith still around or gone?

That is the mystery. They mention in the other movies that there are usually two at a time. But, if you go into some of the old canon, which may or may not be useful now since it was all "trashed", there used to be hundreds. You could study to become one. So it isn't crazy to think that someone new could come along and become one by studying it. IE how you become a jedi. etc.

That being said, there are a lot of people who think that Snoke is Darth Plageus who is the sith who trained Palpatine. Perhaps he has been in the background of this since the very beginning pulling strings. Ultimately setting him up to be the "big bad" in the ninth movie.

My understanding is that Darth Vader and Darth Sidious were the last of the Sith. The new guys are using the dark side of the force but are not Sith (although that is really yet to be revealed).
