also i think that most people don't know about it's effects on their diets.

    *  In 2006, 631,636 people died of heart disease. Heart disease caused 26% of deaths—more than one in every four—in the United States.1
    * Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women. Half of the deaths due to heart disease in 2006 were women.1
    * Coronary heart disease is the most common type of heart disease. In 2005, 445,687 people died from coronary heart disease.2
    * Every year about 785,000 Americans have a first heart attack. Another 470,000 who have already had one or more heart attacks have another attack.3
    * In 2010, heart disease will cost the United States $316.4 billion.3 This total includes the cost of health care services, medications, and lost productivity.

Hey, guys. Found an awesome way to cut down on cals while snacking in front of the TV. Just got a salt lick installed on my coffee table. HAVE NEVER FELT BETTER, HEART-HEALTHIER OR TALLER IN MY LIFE.  :drink: (<--but with salt lick).

I think there are several hundred thousand people over 75 years old dying of heart disease.  Maybe if they just got cancer from the aspartame or smoked they would help us out on the whole heart disease issue.

Don't eat for 5 days straight. You will lose a good amount of that. ;)
Where did you get that overnight bag?

Yeah, I'm doing no fatty foods and strict portion control.

anyone else find it interesting that the obesity epidemic started in the 70's along with the trend of low fat diets?

Cut the saturated and trans fats, but monounsaturated fats aren't terrible.

Eat lots of fish, egg whites, veggies and drink water.  If you're serious, cut out alcohol and white bread completely.  Only eat wheat bread.  And sun chips are Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).

Thread is tl;dr so forgive me if reposting.

yeah, I lost about 40 pounds doing weight watchers 3 years ago.  went from 240-200.  Then I quit smoking and gained 10-15 back.  my 34 waist pants that I had to buy are getting a little tight.

I've lost about 15 lbs in 2 months from just getting a little more exercise, now that it's nice outside. I also had food poisoning, but that only accounted for 8 lbs or so.

I always  at weight watchers.  I know that it works, but I hear my mom and sister talking about "points" and I'm like wtf?  It's calories in vs calories out.

White bread is completely processed.  When it is fully metabolized, there is literally no difference between white bread and straight sugar.  It's all empty calories, while wheat bread provides important nutrients like fiber.

Agree Pike.  It's a government conspiracy.  The CIA and the wheat bread industry have been in bed w/ each other for years.
