I mean if you're going to get a guy like Venables to do it, it's going to take something different.  I agree with you that it wouldn't be like the other situations.  The practice in-and-of-itself is pretty much dead.

It's just a rumor.  May be nothing.  May be true.  But it's not completely crazy.  Two of Snyder's good friends did it in Alvarez and Bowden.  He may think it's the way to go?

I smile a really big smile when I imagine Snyder walking venables around the office on the first day saying things like "this is where I keep the stapler" and "when you write notes to people you really wants to write them at an angle and this is why....".

yes, I am praying to the old gods and the new the Alvarez - Bielema transition is what is happening.  Bielema DC'd for two seasons while Wisky had two good seasons as John Stocco developed as a QB and they went 12-1 when he was a Sr in Bielema's first year.  We have a similar opportunity with Delton/Thompson.

I also like idea of BV getting the time to continue Andre's work at moving away from WRSOAT's "efforts" while Snyder is providing cover as HC.  If I am BV I would absolutely not mind Bill sticking around to coach the remnants of the 2013 class, woof.

Is our class stellar or something? Are you worried that BV couldn't close the deal as head coach, but think our current staff of lazy recruiters is going to keep these recruits from looking around?

You don't think BV has been thinking about a staff? If you think he has to scramble to put together a staff, he shouldn't be even considered as HCIW. He knows exactly who he wants to hire if he comes to KSU, and the HCIW insult only makes it more difficult.

And we're worried about strength and conditioning coach adjustment? My goodness. Let's just keep the gang together forever.

This isn't about keeping the gang together.  Snyder has created an operational and administrative structure that supports winning football.  If that is already in place, why rock the boat?  If we all agree that what we need are better players, Venables can make that happen.  Just replacing a few guys like Hayes, Miller, and Latimore with younger, more energetic recruiters will go a long way there.

Regardless of what me, you, or anyone else thinks of Snyder, he's created a structure that allows him to win with crappy recruiters and walk-ons.  Venables can make adjustments as he sees fit, but don't tear the whole house down when all you need is a little remodeling.

The buzz is that Snyder has such a unique framework/structure for winning football at K-State, the successor, in order to avoid a breakdown and long rebuilding process, will need to adopt the Snyder way of doing things.  You'd think Venables knows that framework.  One of the reasons I happen to like the potential of Leavitt's involvement in all this is because Leavitt knows the framework as well.  A friend with a friend in the OU athletic dept is adamant that the FB program will collapse unless the Snyder successor is chosen within the Snyder coaching tree.

This is probably the most compelling point made so far. But don't you think would just prefer to get rid of key WRSOAT contributors as soon as possible. Most would remain if he's HCIW.

Just Hayes leaving and bringing in an actual DB coach would be a huge start and offense it's not like we have the personnel at WR or  QB to run the spread anyways.

bill's victory lap is going to be so sweet
hopefully he rides around opposing stadiums on a hoverboard while flipping off all of the fans and teams that he has completely dominated for the last 20 years.  which would be all of the teams.  because he has.  meanwhile BV is in the pressbox banging all of the wives and daughters of important k-state people, until 5 mins before kickoff when he wipes the sex off his face and joins the team on the field to begin DoD3.

at halftime of our last game, as a final goodbye, BV nails a bunch of chicks at midfield while snyder films it and they make a sex tape together.   then after the game, all the coaches and wyatt go into that big theater in vanier and watch the tape and laugh and high five and go cats.
Hilarious.  Sophomoric, but hilarious.
