Speaking of futures. I just watch Black Hat and that terrorist guy really cleaned up on soy bean Futures. We should do something like that.

Where do you think this war chest came from?

I have another candidate and this guy may be available next year when we're actually looking for a coach, Arkansas Offensive Coordinator Dan Enos. Enos by no means is a top choice but he does check a few boxes. He was the head coach at Central Michigan for 5 years and he left after a good year to become the OC at Arkansas. He does run a pro style, ball control offense there. They look like what we would want to look like if we had a quarterback and a competent playcaller. For people who insist that Currie will blow the hire you better hope for this guy, people would certainly be pissed if we hired him but we could do so much worse.

I just have to believe that if the options were Dan Enos or Brent Venables, Currie would throw his desire for HC experience aside and go with Venables.

I mean it's a rule until it isn't, you know?

It isn't my rule though, it's his and it's very apparent that it's important to him. Looking at the superficial things, that you don't need an interview to see, the biggest difference is that one coaches offense one defense, one has been a successful coach and one a long time assistant (who incidentally was fired once), and one went to school here and one hasn't and I am REAL sure that Currie gives no Fs about who went to school here and who didn't.

The HC experience criteria just shows what a complete pussy JC is. And not giving a crap about the fact that BV is quasi-beloved because he played/coached at KSU is unbelievably short sighted and unimaginably stupid. But this rough ridin' dipshit valued HC experience so much he hired a guy who was fired for sucking. So I guess he is just thay type of rough ridin' dumbass.

They're doubling down and pushing for an invite in 2017.  They can't afford to lose Herman right now.

If they get in, whatever, but they're doing everything they can to keep him.

How funny would it be if Clemson makes the NC and a week before the game Venables announces that after the game he'll be leaving to be the head coach at Kansas State?

It would be a lot better if we hire him before their CCG and then they lose.

But, like, they lose 0-2 so Venzy still looks like a boss.

How great will it when Colorado fails to reach bowl eligibility and we scoop up their red hot defensive coordinator?

It sucks wanting something so much, yet knowing at the same time you can't have it. No matter what.

It's possible.  We just have to pay the money and Currie has to get over the HC thing.

Coordinators don't make a lot of P5 jumps these days.  Morris went to SMU, Herman went to Houston, McElwain went to Colorado State.  The only one that I can think of that happened in the last couple of years was Narduzzi to Pitt.

These days, the path is elite P5 coordinator, mid-major job (MWC, AAC), big P5 job.  If we just allow him to bypass the mid-major, low-P5 gig, we can probably have him if we're willing to pay him $2 million a year (just a guess).

Yes but about the bad thing that he did when he was at KState? (I've heard multiple stories. Do not know the truth.) I've heard "not allowed back in Manhattan though" :(
