I think Currie focuses on fb enough that he won't be a detriment to picking our coach.
Hope so. But he is kind of a weird guy and we've heard about Snyder hating him for various things. I can see why a coach would think he's a weird guy to work with and be scared off.

Has Snyder ever gotten along with an AD?

A control freak with a God complex usually doesn't get along with his "boss" well, by and large.

if the rumor that Currie forbade Snyder from hiring his first coordinator choice after Cosh left is true, that's a bit more serious/worrisome than Snyder having a god complex who hates any "boss".

I don't know if that's true or not.  Currie probably isn't fun to work with, but I really can't imagine LHC Bill Snyder considering him more than an annoyance.

I'm with Dickstone in the fact that Currie has given Bill about $160+ million reasons to have a good working relationship.  Gundy has had a similar relationship with his AD, but he's stayed because it's hard to find a situation where you never have to worry about money or facilities.

The problem is that Bill doesn't give a crap about that.  He'd just as well have practice in the middle of a field and have games in CiCo park.
Nah man, remember in that one video he said he really wanted a training table!
I don't think OB is a rough ridin' idiot!

Paging dax.  We need dax to the podium.

Under Currie we've paid our coaches well. I don't anticipate us having a problem paying market value, but I don't see us hiring a $4 million coach, there aren't many of those.

Someone smarter than me rank the openings and include K-State please.

Thank you

I have another candidate and this guy may be available next year when we're actually looking for a coach, Arkansas Offensive Coordinator Dan Enos. Enos by no means is a top choice but he does check a few boxes. He was the head coach at Central Michigan for 5 years and he left after a good year to become the OC at Arkansas. He does run a pro style, ball control offense there. They look like what we would want to look like if we had a quarterback and a competent playcaller. For people who insist that Currie will blow the hire you better hope for this guy, people would certainly be pissed if we hired him but we could do so much worse.

I believe we'll ultimately end up with a better hire than most of you negative nancies think.

A big reason for the timing of the new VFC was for "recruiting" and not so much for recruiting kids initially, but to give ol' K-State a chance to hire the type of coach we need to sustain success here.

We have a brand new Maclaren parked on the north end of the stadium that has yet to be driven over 45 mph just begging for a hot, sexy football coach to break every speed record in it.

If you don't think that there are a number of quality coaches that would love to have that palace as a recruiting tool to build a winner, then you are exactly the type of loser mentality that doesn't deserve to have a championship caliber coach here.

I just have to believe that if the options were Dan Enos or Brent Venables, Currie would throw his desire for HC experience aside and go with Venables.

I mean it's a rule until it isn't, you know?

I wish my heart didn't yearn for venzy but it does.  Every day it does.

Every day that it does, send Brent a note c/o Jennifer Benton (his secretary) at: [email protected]

Dear Coach Venables,

I've been very impressed with your coaching abilities over the last 20 years. Please don't take a head coaching position this year. Unless it is at Kansas State University. We want you home.

Sincerely,

All EMAWs

Or;

Hey Brent,

Stay right where you are coaching a bomb ass defense for the WildTigerCats. We'll call soon enough.

Love,

Wildcat FAMILY

P. S. You COULD call us. Might help super shy ADJC. He is who has been calling and hanging up when your wife picks up.

It isn't my rule though, it's his and it's very apparent that it's important to him. Looking at the superficial things, that you don't need an interview to see, the biggest difference is that one coaches offense one defense, one has been a successful coach and one a long time assistant (who incidentally was fired once), and one went to school here and one hasn't and I am REAL sure that Currie gives no Fs about who went to school here and who didn't.

Yes. We have an account that, on last year's balance sheet had $26M in it and we are adding to it every year. It has been described as our coaching war chest. Being that we didn't know how long Snyder was going to be around, we are pumping money in every year because it could (have) cost $6-7M a year for an ok coach in 5-10 years. As it is, we have the ability to offer $5M for five years today.

Speaking of futures. I just watch Black Hat and that terrorist guy really cleaned up on soy bean Futures. We should do something like that.

How about we just sign Urban Meyer or Saban to a 2-year, $13 million/year contract? Would maybe pay off. :dunno:
