Maybe it'll be like 2004 Nebraksa where we are garbage but they are also garbage and we win by 20

I have no reason to think we can't hang with them, but doesn't Stoops have a ridiculous record after a loss (or even RRR games)? Would be a very good sign if our guys come out and get a W in this one.
Despite the fact that Bob Stoops is 14-0 the week following the Red River shootout, is 4-0 at BSFS and has never lost 2 regular season games in a row, I think we have our chances, if we can once and for all put 2 consecutive halves together.  I think this will be a dog fight.

Interesting/concerning if true.

Even though this feels like a must win anyway, if we beat OU on Saturday then it means we have a damn fine team that just needs to get its crap together.

Yes, but didn't we have a ridiculous record of wins when leading at half.  Those records, as they say, are made to be broken, and streaks are made to be snapped.

Two of those "facts" are not true. We beat them the week after they played Texas just last year. Stoops also lost back to back regular season games in '99.

Take a lap and regroup.

My prediction is we will be behind by 2 TD's in the fourth qtr and try to run the ball the rest of the game because they won't expect it.

I had to go check for myself, the week after Red River rivalry because that did not seem right.  They lost as recent as last year the week after playing Texas to yours truly.

I'll be honest, we've been a lot more competitive this year, than I expected. Not that that's a moral victory or anything, I've just been impressed.

Bill's last great scheme, he already told Bobby, "listen Bobby, i don't have much time, i want you to succeed me in this limestone purple palace.  throw this game to me, they will can you, and you can start coaching up here by Monday, bring any assistant you want except your brother, Sean will run the special teams of course, and please keep Andre.  Get Venzy back to run the defense, and none of this co-coordinator bs.  one last thing Bobby, i love you."

My sources indicate that Bob is planning to throw this game so he will get fired, take over for Bill, and use Bill's 5 heart recruits and coaches to win yet another national title.

I intended this to be a comprehensive, all-encompassing, all subtopics welcome, one-stop for all your OU game needs kind of thread. Everything is fair game.

Just like the last 2 weeks, lead at half, blow lead, lose game.......

I would love it if we came out in 5 WR sets like a couple years ago in Norman and watch Mikey throw a TT on the sideline and burn time outs.........glorious

My guess is  that Dimel forgot about that game and what worked and he just falls asleep in the booth....

We're a second half team, so don't worry if we're down at halftime.  We'll fight back and score 28+ in the second.

Here is what my intuition tells me:

Relatively low scoring affair with K-State's defense finally stepping up and both teams making an effort to rely more on the run game.  Big plays are the difference maker in the first half. Baker Mayfield extends some plays by avoiding sacks and hits a couple big passes.  OU 17, KSU 7 at the end of the first half.

In a fortunate twist of events, K-State actually comes out with its typical first half offense in half #2.  Bazooka Joe leads some sustained drives and Cats build momentum.  Pressure is turned on and Mayfield makes some inexplicable mistakes that the defense takes advantage of.  The game ends with a Bazooka Joe kneel down.

Final score: KSU 31, OU 27  :emawkid: :emawkid: :emawkid:
