its thursday and i still have no rough ridin' clue about this game. someone tell me what to think

Here is what my intuition tells me:

Relatively low scoring affair with K-State's defense finally stepping up and both teams making an effort to rely more on the run game.  Big plays are the difference maker in the first half. Baker Mayfield extends some plays by avoiding sacks and hits a couple big passes.  OU 17, KSU 7 at the end of the first half.

In a fortunate twist of events, K-State actually comes out with its typical first half offense in half #2.  Bazooka Joe leads some sustained drives and Cats build momentum.  Pressure is turned on and Mayfield makes some inexplicable mistakes that the defense takes advantage of.  The game ends with a Bazooka Joe kneel down.

Final score: KSU 31, OU 27  :emawkid: :emawkid: :emawkid:

man this was spot on :flush:

Delton needs to play the second he is healthy. We need a QB with talent and experience. I have no answers for the D.

This. If he isn't playing once healthy, my head might explode.

Isn't he out for the year?

Probably just as well if he is, but I thought someone here said he could be ready to go in a few weeks. Unfortunately you cannot just choose to use a medical redshirt unless he actually isn't ABLE to play the full rest of the season.

He tore his meniscus. Instead of cutting off the floppy bit and being back to full speed in two-three weeks they tried repairing it. Apparently he/his parents honestly believe he has a shot at the nfl (laughable) and thought repairing would give him more longevity.

If I remember correctly, this all went down between OSU and TCU? May have been the week before OSU. They had to wait longer for swelling to go down to repair than if they had just removed. It's an incredibly selfish move considering the state of our QBs and the success rate of the surgery.

That's not selfish at all. If it was the repairable part of the meniscus that's a smart move by all involved.

Might as well repair the knee since repairing the season seems like a bit of a long shot.

it's selfish, but like, being selfish isn't always bad.  dude needs to look after his own knee before anyone on a college sports team.

Quote
UGLY WINS OK — Gaining confidence is key for the Cats coming off a losing season, and after losing all but one starter, junior forward Westicles.

As an example, Weber cited the 55-0 loss K-State suffered in football against Oklahoma as “a letdown’’ stemming from narrow defeats the previous two weeks.

As for his team, “you win some games early, and they can be ugly, but you win them, and you start feeling good about yourself. That goes a long way as you get into the season.’’
