Yo ShellSquawk how's this going for you bud?

Went back in again for another in-lab sleep study (after doing the in-house sleep study and one in-lab study) and they said that it's not actually sleep apnea now.

Three sleep tests :sdeek: grats on the no sleep apnea diagnosis though

Thanks! Yea, it sucked big time. The lady doing the sleep tests told me the next morning that she had a good time laughing at me sleep talking and my hands reaching for things and doing weird crap too. The ruled out all of the episodes from my take home study due to my brain/hands subconsciously messing with the sensors.

Tech woke me up after an hour, said I had 41 sleep interruptions, and put me on a CPAP machine.  Have since bought one, and it makes a huge difference in how well I sleep, like a lot better.  You don't have to put it on the minute you go to bed if there are more interesting prospects that may occupy your time for an hour or so.  Some of you, well, make that like 10 minutes.

I have a friend that is starting a company to produce an amazing invention used with a CPAP. You guys will all be buying his product within 2-3 years. He has the patents. He just sent me his business plan and asked me to review it. I may report back on how rich you are all going to make him.

Is the dobber "I have a friend that is starting a company to do X" an inside joke I don't get or does he run like a startup incubator out of his basement?

14-25 "sleep apnea events" each hour has been reduced to 1-3 sleep events per hour, as long as I keep the breathing machine on my face.

I'm having trouble tolerating the treatment. I go to sleep fine but wake after 2-3 hours and either try and tolerate it for another 30-45 minutes after which I take it off and sleep great-ish or I get pissed off in my sleep and take it off and then sleep OK - not great but OK.

I did recently keep the mask on for almost 4 hours and felt absolutely amazing the next day. So I'm keeping with it. If I can feel amazing after only 4 hours of solid sleep, how Superman-ish will I be with 8 hours a night under my belt?!?!

Then again, what if I am SO awake and alert after good nights of sleep that I become the totally annoying ass I was back in the day when I naturally slept well.

That may be another story...

i don't want to wear a mask or hook myself to a machine.  i can't help but feel like alcohol or narcotics can do the job just as well.

that aside, do you consciously just wake up and go "this sucks" and rip the thing off?

Funny you mention that because alcohol may have been the catalyst for all of this.

I do, but when i'm awake (half asleep) I try to stick with it. When I do it in my sleep and not remember doing it, all bets are off. Wife says I throw it off with exhibited frustration and anger.

I am old. I became friends with a guy that started an LED light company. He is now CotB of a completely different pharma company. He has introduced me to some other people. Two of my bros have started/ in on ground floor of a couple of companies. I am snarky/sarcastic on a mbb, but I am not smart enough for inside jokes.

based on business plan, maybe early in 2017! He had sleep apnea, which led him to his invention. Won't be sold directly through health care companies. Interesting business plan that I am only half way through.

my dad did the sleep study and got the machine when he was like 45. with it he becomes a superhero that only requires like 5 hours of sleep a year. he used to be a little overweight but never obese. he's probably about 6'2" 200 right now. I should probably honestly get it checked out too because I think part of it is genetic but I don't have too much trouble sleeping really so I don't.

I recently saw a story on the mouthpiece and sleep professionals are really making a push on them, unfortunately for me it can only be used in cases of mild to moderate apnea.

People usually go because they are fatigued during the day. Usually they snore heavily too.

I'm seeing a lung specialist on Monday that happens to be a sleep specialist too. In the patient packet, I found the Epworth Sleepiness Scale questionnaire.

Go look at "Stuart Heatherington" on LinkedIn. I think he wants some volunteers if you use a CPAP.
