they aren't going to invite a big 12 team to the CFP again, are they?
Not unless they go undefeated with an ooc against someone ranked.

Big 12 should disband.  Embarrassing.  Would have been a great year to gain positive reputation.

as of right now (with Oregon up 28-0)....

the big 12 has been out-scored, 252-136...or an avg. score of 42-22.

Take the Baylor game out and what is it? Just curious about the losses totals. Tia

Kick Baylor out and start playing football like the rest of the world again.

The big 12 died 5 years ago, we just haven't held the funeral yet.

Big 12 has always been waiting for Texas to get good again.

bowl records (outside of CFP) are pretty much meaningless

I wish there were half as many bowls, and all bowls were played before Christmas.

Really?  It sure as hell means something when your whole conference gets pisspounded by teams in other conferences.

I think it matters for the following year from a perception stand point.

To a certain extent. It won't hurt Oklahoma, it will help Baylor, and no one else would be affected in a meaningful way.

Flip all the scores in the big 12 games and the big 12 looks like boss studs and I pretty much guarantee you that we'd have teams ranked next year that really shouldn't be.

Yea, so in the current landscape the bowl season won't matter much.  Still, this pretty much guarantees a 1-loss Big 12 team would get left out of the next CFP.

yeah, but high enough to push the CFP needle? maybe OSU could have been.

I think it drives/shapes perception early which to me becomes tough to shake/change as the season wears on.  That said, brand name teams don't have to worry about crap. But if OU wins and is in the Natty and then everyone else just destroys their opponent, I think the conference would have more momentum (i.e. the last thing people remember when they go do their preseason polls).

that being said, with most conferences going towards having to play a p5 in the non-con, teams/conferences might be more easily judged moving forward.
