Yep, I've discussed it several times, but their early season conference games inflate their rankings early and are a huge advantage come playoff time.

Just look at Alabama's marquee wins. Almost 100% product of brilliant scheduling by the SEC.

It inflates their early season rankings by allowing about half their teams to immediately have better resumes than almost all other teams.

It also effectively gives them an additional BYE week later in the season to rest players who need it.

tOSU losing to the only ranked team they've played so far helps quite a bit.
