So which is it, WackyFence08... You witnessed last year or this year is completely different?
Also, both those big 12 teams got pushed out for a 1 loss Ohio state team who lost to vtech. This committee isn't even trying to hide it.

anyone saying that today's rankings don't matter is a complete dumbass.  today's rankings certainly will be used to justify tomorrow's, and so forth and so on, until the end of the season.

that's not to say that the current rankings are wrong, but ohio st seems to be unquestionably in the top 4 with a terrible sos, and iowa?  come on.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Ohio state will beat Iowa, and either Clemson or notre dame will lose and it will all work itself out. OU still has a spot waiting for them. The committee set it up for them. When they beat a higher ranked OSU, they'll be pushed into the top 4

Notre Dame won't lose, but I like how you think. ND will get in over a 1 loss Big 12 team no matter what. Clemson won't lose either. And if the do, they might fall to #4.

There are only 3 weeks left in the season and everyone in the top 20 has to play each other. Too many big games left to get caught up in temporary standings.

These last 3 weeks are pretty much a Sweet 16.

This is the time of year where everyone discusses what will happen if all the teams win out, and then chaos ensues.

If you care enough to see Notre Dame fall then be a Houston fan for the next 3 weeks. They could beat two of ND's marquee wins - Temple and Navy.

WTF? LOL. If the committee cared about that ND wouldn't be there now. I mean we're talking about a top 4 team with "marquee" wins against Temple and Navy. Temple got beat by South Florida by 3 damn touchdowns 3 days ago and the committee is like YOLO!

I have a sinking feeling OSU is going to lose to Baylor and then hand OU its second loss at Bedlam, thus ensuring the Big 12 is locked out of the Playoffs once again.

then Baylor and OSU get smoked in the Big 12's two highest profile bowl games to complete the worst case scenario breeding even more offseason "we need to leave this loser conference" talk from OU fans  :frown:

If that's the case, then they should try winning a title. Since the league went round robin, they've only tied us in 12 and we won the tiebreaker.

Interesting to look at where we'd be if the BCS was still going.

Interesting. It looks very consistent to what the committee submitted. At this point ND, Iowa, and Okla St are almost interchangeable. TCU is down, but they are being punished because a 6 point win vs KU is the same as a loss.

Many people seem most concerned with the Big 12 getting into the CFP. Also worth watching is whether or not we can finish with 3 teams in the top 11. As a conference, our bowl revenue needs a boost since we may only have 6 eligible teams.

much of the cfp stuff in the blogosphere seems to point to a one loss notre dame getting in over an undefeated OSU.

A friend of mine's son was visited by two SKC players at children's mercy the other day.
