I had 15k wife about 60k.  Paid it all off in like 4 or 5 years after we graduated.  Looking back probably should have invested the extra money, but probably wouldn't have.  Felt good having it all paid off before we had kids.  Go cats

I had the company pay for my higher learning while the Mrs. racked up about 400k in loans.  Hers will be erased in one more yr tho.    That will be a celebrated day for sure.

You guys ever run into ppl who continue to go to school, to avoid paying student loans? I've had two coworkers who brag over it, without saying what they're doing. One was at Brown Mackie. She was in her 50's and still in school. She had a bachelors, masters, vet tech, physical therapy certificate, medical assistant, and was going to school to be a nurse while I was there. Translation: Former JOCO wife who never had to work, while she was enrolling students at Brown Mackie.

Now, this coworker has 3 masters and she's trying to enroll into being a doctor of business.  I've caught her looking at student loan stuff before at work. Translation: Former JOCO wife, who didn't have to work till 3 years ago. It's an epidemic. Be good to your man if you're going to be a JOCO wife is what I always say!

She told me she wants to teach, that's why she wants to move forward. I told her she can teach with a masters and she gave me a blank stare.

I think you overestimate how hard sparkies work.    They get paid big bucks because of the danger, not the effort.

Yeah, I don't either really. Actually, I take that back, one of my guys in my wedding was getting pretty detailed about stuff with his wife. Then started asking me questions. That might just be small talk from Salina folk tho. @tobias
