us coins don't have bronze in them.  and why wouldn't you save broken jewelry?  is there anyone that throws away silver, gold and gemstones?  i guess most people have them fixed, though.

I saw a tomahawk at Gander Mountain this weekend that I wanted but Gooch said I didn't need it.  :frown:

favorite pastime anecdote:

whenever i am shopping at home depot in the tomahawk aisle and an associate asks me if they can help me with anything, I ask them what the tomahawk is for.

The scene: QWs parents melted down a bunch of pennies to fashion into a club. Some poor unprepared dork comes by trying to get in on their bounty and is promptly bludgeoned into a pulp. Later crime scene techs are processing the gruesome scene, when one tech says "who do you think delivered the death blow?"

I get the temptation to mock doomsday preppers as poorly adjusted weirdos, I really do, but lets be nice.

I have a neighbor that supports a family of 4 or 5 with a single income as an entrepreneur who sells stuff exclusively for prepping.   :surprised:  I mean, this guy has an estate lot that is like 3 acres and a $300-$350k house.   :surprised:

I only have about 80 bullets. Is this enough to knock over the queens reno stash?

I don't get that vibe.  I think he is just good at separating suckers from their money.

Well when I was a kid we did not have a bathroom in our basement so I would occasionally pee in ours.

A true peeper would have spent the last 8+ years developing the constitution of a hyena and wouldn't need to concern themselves with such pedestrian matters

Yeah, if you are already not craving your next room temp urine refreshment and your next acorn and beetle meal, you aren't doing it right.

How do you prep that last thing

Provo may be the new capital city

Fun Mormon fact:  They are all preppers due to some rule that they should have a yearish? supply of food.  House listings in Utah often advertise "cold storage".  It's usually just a concrete room in the basement but for food storage instead of a tornado shelter or whatever.  They cram the rooms full of canned food, bags of wheat, etc.  Lots of prepper stores around too.  One near my office has an underground bunker you can buy sitting in the parking lot.

It's 5 years. We bought a house in Clovis, CA that was built by Mormons. Kitchen cabinets for miles. Each shelf was bowed.

perhaps he's prepping to buy a personal island. But I agree with you on part 2.
