The Right Stuff (movie related not NKOTB related)

This might seem like a weird criticism but there's a shitload of exclamation points used.  Also don't care for how he trashed Gus Grissom's rep but otherwise a decent fun read especially if you're into old timey space race history stuff.

And it's particle at the end of the universe, lol

That's why I was asking if it was about the Higgs.  Wanted to make sure we were talking about the same book :D

I just finished Cain by José Saramago (same guy who wrote the Gospel According to Jesus Christ) and it was pretty weird.

Now read Blindness

Is it ironic that the only copy of Blindness available at the Wichita library is a large print edition?

I finished On the Road and And the Hippos within the last week. I had never read any of the beats before. I don't really feel strongly one way or the other. I suppose I'll read a few more from these guys, probably at least Howl and Naked Lunch, so I can laugh some more over what people considered obscene back then, and move on to something else.

i just finished on the road. it was exhilarating!

This Vast Southern Empire is one of the most interesting history books I've ever read.

recommend me something sciencey. looking for something along the lines of Guns, Germs, and Steel.

1491 has some pretty interesting stuff in it.

1493 is also great.

Sapiens is science light but interesting philosophically and a very good read:

Thanks guys. Fascinating book, I'll read it again.

Hillbilly Elegy - Easy read and I found the perspective of the author very reasonable.
Lost City of Z - Fun non-fiction. Makes me feel like not a real man when I read about these Amazon explorers. Insane.

Michigancat, I'm about 2/3rds through Evicted. Dude. Thanks for the recommendation.

I just finished The Virgin Suicides. This will shock you, but that book is pretty dreary and depressing.

Moby Dick

Do Not Recommend.

Just finished this.  Also do not recommend.  What an overrated, overly wordy snoozefest inducing piece of crap.  Whatever story was trying to be told got capsized by a rogue wave of words.

definitely worth the read.

Also just read "Kill All Normies" about the rise of 4chan and the alt-right from online to the real world and it is pretty good, it is short. I am also picking Matt Karp's "This Vast Southern Empire" back up after taking a break.
