Just cause I'm bored, if we went to the big east with ku and mu (don't care about isu, prolly better to grab memphis):- basketball: Big East could basically own big Monday, two games, back to back on glorious espn hd. Split into two division like football with some interleage play, play East tournament and West tournament in different locals, winner of each tourney plays in MSG for the official conf tourney championship. - football: same as big 12, two divisions, some interleague play, get on tv somehow, nice little championship game.

BloomOnHoops As for breaking "traditional ties" A&M has played Arkansas just two fewer times than Texas Tech. And They've played LSU more than OU or OSU.
Is there any way a 20 team Big East basketball conference could split into two allied 10-team "mini-conferences" rather than divisions, allowing for 2 automatic bids into the Big Dance?

What's the point of worrying about a 2nd automatic bid?

What's the point of worrying about a 2nd automatic bid? It would allow for an extra team that is not going to make the tournament to have a shot at getting into the dance, turning 8 bids into 9 or 10. Most years it would not matter, but it's best to give yourself as many shots as possible. If there were two seperate tournaments with only 8 teams each, it wouldn't be so unlikely for some upsets to happen.

thoughts on getting the a&m people on the phone and telling them that they can have 20% of our yearly cut if they take us to the sec w/ them.
