Going west would be a giant pain in the ass.  No conference wants to span three different time zones.  Include BYU's unwillingness to play on Sundays in all athletics and it becomes a scheduling nightmare.  If we expand at all, it will be east with the likes of Cincy/UConn to help fill the void between the rest of the conference and WVU.  It will also give us a new giant TV market in the armpit of the U.S.  Rejoice!

FSU/UCF?   Florida is a nice place to visit. 

FSU is out with the ACC GOR.  UCF and USF are still in play.

I don't think this is an OR-it will take both things for the Big 12 to expand.  I don't believe KSU, ISU and KU will want to vote to lose round robin just for more money (especially if it is just a couple of mil). 

Even TCU, BU, TT and maybe OSU would have to assured of the right divisional split before they would be on board.

10 is by far the best if we can keep UT and OU happy

I am a little sad this summer won't be as wild as it was shaping up to be once the Maryland stuff was settled.

This is the only conference to get a school without all the problems the other conferences have with GOR.  I wouldn't be surprised if they did target some SEC schools.

Awarding bids through the gov'n is a bitch. They got their process approved to include a 3 person panel. They then grew it to 5, awarded it with only 3 voters, and only 1 of those 3 were in the original panel. Their state AG got a hold of it and said it was basically void because the approved process was for those 3, and since 2 of those 3 didn't vote there was still a chance if they reverted back to the original approved process it wouldn't have passed.

Just makes the implications of anyone saying "Championship game winners get preferential treatment" in a playoff selection more clear to the Big 12.  Not that anyone has pushed specifically for that, yet...

The thing is, our champ will have played 9 conference games, and some of conferences with a champ game will only play 8 regular season games...so their champ will have only played 9 conference games as well.  Even steven.

However, the BIG is rumored to be switching to a 9 game conference season instead of 8.  Those fuckers will probably push to have championship game winner get preferential treatment.
