Like I said, the NCAA's future is in the hands of Nebraska right now.  If they leave the Big 12, then dominos start falling everywhere.  If they stay, then nothing is going to happen at all. 

 

Just have this gut feeling that Tom Osborne at the end of the day wants to keep Nebraska in the Big XII.  Even though he hates Texas with a passion, he is an old school Big 8 guy, these are his roots and I don't him easily turning his back and walking out on 75 years of conference history, especially with the catastrophic consequences that lie in the balance.

I think more of the push for the Big 10 is coming at the university level.

Thinking like that is why the Big 12 is in the position that it's in today.  College football is a business, and in business there are no friends/emotions.  Traditions matter to fans, but that type of stuff is never going to play a part in something like this.  You leave if you think it will be a better business deal for your employer.

As has been stated, all the other Big 12 schools are more than keenly aware of mu's "face down a$$ up" posture towards the Big 10, and while a certain level of politicikng and schmoozing is expected in any business deal . . . going to the table and basically telling the other side to bury it deep and you'll beg for more is not going to sit well with existing partners who are in a position of power and will approach any deal as such.   Even if those other partners are looking around themselves . . . as is the case here, but those guys i.e. Texas and probably OU and several others are doing it more from a "we bring a lot and we want a lot" stance . . . not a "oh please take me, I'll be your little cum dumpster, I'll do whatever you want" stance like Moo.

I am not going to look backwards, but instead cast my eyes and my efforts toward the future.  Kansas State University is about people.  People working tirelessly toward a goal of making this University the best that it can be.  Certainly the past has shown that we can do this, however now we must script a new history.

This is also a concern of mine.  Really pisses me off to see the vid clips from the conference mtgs on the news and see Shultz and Beebe being the only idiots there with crap eating grins on.   Don't think they get what is going on.

Other possibility is that Shultz has no ability to do anything but sit back and wait.  Beebe doesn't have this excuse.
