Here is what I am starting to believe. We stay at 10 teams. Pac10 stays at 10 teams. We each play 1 pac10 each year.

why is that bad if it produces our own Big Pac (<--- official non-renegade messageboard name) Network? We already do it in basketball. And with the kind of potential inventory available in football (ie. elite matchups like UCLA v Texas, OU v Oregon, KSU v USC, etc) all schools would probably stand to make millions upon millions more in tv revenue, even if it was distributed unevenly.
I also believe that this happens, except that there will not be a network, merely a cowardly arranged (but decently profitably) deal with existing network(s). However, I pray to Allah that I am wrong and that they indeed do a Big Pac network.
In my opinion the real benefit to KSU if we do a network is that it will create a "bond" between the Big 12 and Pac 10 that will save our asses a few years down the road when it's "mega-conference or bust" for everyone. A joint network would attach us at the hip to the Pac-10.....and when it's clear that it's "grow or die," the two conferences can more quickly pull the trigger to formally merge as one conference.
Having said that, I have no reason to believe that Dan Beebe is capable of any of this.
