can't get over this.  i'm in love.  even if there is no tv deal or conference coop or whatever, they should do this.  give the auto bids to the reg season champs, cancel the conf championships and instead play this mini "champion-of-the-west" tourney right before the ncaas.

I totally agree.  End of year wouldn't be as meaningful if it is that large.  I like the idea of giving the auto bid to the regular season winners.

The Big 8 used to do a "holiday tournament."  A Big Pac holiday tournament would be rough ridin' glorious.  Something to kick off the season and give everyone a HUGE RPI boost.  Obviously we would have a ton of fun locales to host this thing.  Heck, I know the weather isn't the greatest, but KC could even suffice in a pinch.

But, between San Diego, LA, San Fran, 'Zona cities and Texas cities, it would make for an annual holiday vacation that I would certainly enjoy the hell out of.

Agreed. Just sucks because I know that we'll end up getting fracked on our seeding for the national tournament every year because of this. It will be like '98 Big XII Championship every single year.

And going to 10 teams and playing a conference schedule like the Big 10 does in football would be fantastic, imo.  And in basketball it would force an 18 game conference schedule.    

you mean pac 10.  greatest thing aboiut mizzou/nubb leaving would be a balanced schedule in bball.  fball is a little off balance cuz some teams get 5 home games and other would only get 4.  would be aweseme though to get to play every team in the conference every year making the regular season mean something.

12/14/16 team leagues basically render regular season conference championships meaningless because of the unfairness built into the scheduling.

I would have to think this through, but could semi-annual neutral site games help solve this?  RSS, Farmaggeddon, TT-OSU in Dallas, ATM-BU in Houston, leaving CU-KU in Hays? ( )  Could some On Campus - Neutral - On Campus rotation solve the unbalance and give everybody at only 4 true road games every season?  :putsonthinkingcap:
