All this talk of fsu and Clemson is fun and all but the ONLY team that really moves the needle is nd.  Dodds knows that, thank God.

At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter to me, as a fan, who "moves the needle". It's a big deal if we beat FSU or Clemson. It's a bigger deal to play Notre Dame than it is to beat them. Notre Dame has lost to a service academy 2 out of the last 3 years.

I would love to have Notre Dame, but getting FSU and Clemson would destroy the ACC, guaranteeing us a spot at the table for the foreseeable future. We also aren't getting Notre Dame if we don't get some other big names to come with them.

You just typed false statements.

FSU and Clemson "move the needle."  Those are true statements.

FSU and Clemson move the needle, but we get a boost from the CCG.

#13 and #14 need to be worth the cut (which will probably be about 23 or 24 million per after addition), and whatever the CCG is worth.

So, if we get $24 million per school in Tier 1 and 2, and we get $2 million a year from CCG, schools #13 and #14 need to be worth $26 million a piece just to be even considered.

Notre Dame and whoever they bring to the table are the only ones that make it worth that.

We won't go to 14 unless ND is involved.  Period.

The next perfect size is 20 with 2 divisions.  Round-robin vs your division and the champ of each division faces off against the other in the Dr. Pepper Royale.  The next break point is 4 divisions of 10 with a 4-team tournament to determine national/conference champion.

But gosh, according to Tigerboard last summer, if there was equal revenue sharing and a conference wide TV network, mu would start to land a lot more of those 5 star Texas kids, and mu would actually win a conference title in football.  Because if the equal revenue sharing across all 3 tier's happened, mu would still make . . . about half of what Texas makes every year, but golly they'd feel better about themselves.    Just like they're going to make $30-$40 million less every year than the top of the SEC even with everybody holding hands and sharing equal pieces of the same pie.

FSU has played in some of the highest rated college football games in ESPN history, including the highest rated.   

Now the denialists of Tigerboard are back on their academic association kick.   Well FSU has been in the ACC for 20 years, and that regal status has elevated FSU's USNWR academic ranking to . . . #102.   

I believe Clemson is #68 in terms of US News & World Reports rankings.

Missouri is #90.

So, we're getting the intelligent ones in this deal.

SEC would then take NC State and VA Tech.

While I don't disagree with the four he picks for us, I'm still think there's a less than 5% chance the SEC takes anyone else until the NCAA says we can have some sort of 13th game semi final.

My absurdly unrealistic dream scenario is we get to 14 with FSU, Clemson, GT and UND  -> UNC says no to SEC so Slive gets NCSU and VT and then Conference Elite picks up UNC and Miami. 

The big 10 prolly keeps this from happening but with the hot streak we are on I will never say never...
