my huge concern is that a&m does go and fstate and clemson and gtech get blocked and mizzou is then chosen to be the 14th. that really would kill the conference. tech, texas and the oklahoma schools to the pac10. texas already has it's network and i bet the pac10 would want them and oklahoma bad enough that they would be willing to let them bring it. half of me almost wonders if this wasn't pushed back or year or two, so that texas could set up their own network and then go to pac10. if they were already in the conf, they wouldn't have been allowed to do it.

then it's us, ku, iowa st and baylor w/ our d's in our hands. keeping the big12 and it's bcs stuff wouldn't be possible right? gotta have five teams stay together. baylor would have to go do whatever and then it's us, ku and iowa state. not attractive in anyway, shape or form. three random schools in the middle of nowhere. ugggh.

 :cheese:

Pac 18?

If you want to avoid anti-trust lawsuits out the wazoo, you're going to need to make the "BCS" (or whatever it ends up being) more inclusive, and you better make sure that any current BCS programs don't get left out, or you're going to find yourself sitting in front of a congressional panel.

One of two things are going to happen if the super-conferences become a reality (which I'm still not sure that anyone other than playoff zealots really want to see): Current BCS schools will need to voluntarily bow out so we can get down to 64, or they're going to need to create a system that increases membership in the BCS over sixty-seven members.  So the eighteen team scenario seems more plausible than sixteen.  Once all hell breaks loose, there has to be some form of COLUSION to keep the whole system from falling apart.  I envision something like what was in "Too Big to Fail" where someone from the NCAA, the BCS, and the major conferences all get together to hash everything out like Paulsen got the heads of the big banks together to figure out how they were going to fix the mess.  You can't leave nineteen schools out there in limbo and not expect the entire system to fall apart.  The SEC, Pac-16, and Big Ten can certainly field some really sweet conference games, but how is the NCAA supposed to function in that mass chaos?  They'd have to redo the entire system from scratch in less than a year.  And given their time tables, that's nearly impossible unless everyone gets together and works it out and finds a home for everyone that currently lives in the BCS.

Well, at least the public schools anyway.  The private schools without a lot of political backing may be at risk.

I think the divisions will be determined by circumcised vs. uncircumcised.

As long as the BLS gets to participate in the new playoff system, I'm all for it. We will be very competitive in receiving playoff bids in our new league.

The correct answer here is "Yes sir, may I have another"

 7. Rebuffed by Texas Tech, Baylor and Oklahoma State, Texas and its ESPN partner have approached Kansas State as a possible second game to be broadcast on the Longhorn Network this fall. As of now, only the Rice game will be shown on the network, assuming it finds some carriers. Asked to confirm KSU as a partner, Dodds texted that Texas is "looking at all of our home games."

I'm good with it provided that we're compensated for it as a TV appearance AND we get a double dip revenue from Texas.  Also, it needs to be shown on ESPN360 outside of the state of Texas.  It can be blacked out inside of the state for all I care.

The game needs to be on KStateHD.TV.

This means that within a week of A&M leaving, Air Force or Houston will be announced as the tenth member.

it'll be byu, if one is needed.  houston is just being mentioned to try and threaten aggie - but i doubt if even aggie is stupid enough to believe it.

It seems like the best and most obvious choice, but I saw an article this weekend (somewhere) that said BYU wants to stay independent.

It may have been crap.  I don't know.

Maybe they are just sitting back to see what happens.  They don't need to be like certain personalities from Missouri last year.

You are right, they did say that....but SEC also said that they are not adding aTm.  People, teams, and conferences say things.

Would Losing aTm and gaining BYU make our conference worth more or less when it comes time for TV negotiations? I can't help but think it would make us more valuable, as UT would still give us the same sets that aTm gives us, while BYU would give us a national audience.
