I don't feel sorry for them, as they have a landing spot. The hateful 8 didn't and were laughed at about landing spots in G5 conferences where they belonged.

I have a special place for Oregon State. They have fought the good fight, built facilities. As far as I know have not allowed themselves to become latched to the teat of the academic side of the house in order to stay solvent like Cal and Wazzu have done.

I do not want to see them be left out in the cold.

In the 2% chance that we add Washington/Oregon, Oregon’s P5 OOC games through 2028 are all B12 schools. We can offer them a scheduling model where they can play at a minimum 3 of Washington, Colorado, BYU & the addition Pac school (probably Arizona) & they can easy swap in Oregon St as OOC.

Washington only has 2 OOC games scheduled for 24/25/29/30 and 1 OOC in 26/27. The only year their OOC is full is 2028 & they are all home games. We can give them the same deal as Oregon where they can easily have 3-4 western Big12 games plus Wazzou on the schedule every year.

We can go to them & say “with us you can build a schedule where 6-8 games every year look similar your schedule now & you get a deal with ESPN & Fox.”

If the Oregon & Washington rumors are true, I think they are more interested in showing the BigTen that the Pac is dead anyways, so they can take Oregon & Washington and not have the PAC’s blood on their hands (which McMurphy has reported as important to the BigTen).

I am still not convinced the the Big10 wants them at all.

I thought I read that many Big 10 schools weren't crazy about adding USC, UCLA and that there wasn't much appetite to continue expanding.

I have seen that too. Plus they don't have a pro rata clause so networks (all 3 of them) would need to agree to pay more to keep them from being a dilutive addition. I have always thought that if the numbers made since the Big would have already added them. The narrative that they won't add them as to not kill the PAC never made sense to me.

I think big 10 would rather expand with ACC teams and/or Notre Dame, and they are willing to wait. I don't think Oregon and Washington are an option because of this.

We should tell the PAC that the first 2 schools to commit get full shares. The next 2 get 90% and so on. Oregon and Washington can get full shares whenever but have to agree to the same GOR/exit fees as everyone else.
