There won't be a P5 anymore. The nu Big 12 will become part of a G6.  So I assume a playoff berth won't be guaranteed for the B12 winner, but they'll have a decent shot at an at large if the SEC is limited in the number of teams it can get in (which I believe they are strongly fighting against).

Of course they will fight it. I just cant imagine the acc, big10 and pac all sitting back and taking it. Like I just don’t think 70% of the country will sit back and let the sec and espn make all the rules in regards to college football and playoffs. The sec is without a doubt the strongest and would deserve to have 5 teams in every year but can you really see the big10 or acc going yeah sure let’s  go ahead and have playoffs where half of the teams will be from the sec and probably only one will be from ours? That’s horrible the big10, acc and pac. I can’t see them agreeing to that.

So maybe the sec does their own thing and everybody else does something else. Seems as possible as anything.

Regionalized college football will be the death of it.  I don't think TV networks want that either.  I personally would have no interest in a game that in one way or another has no impact to my team. 

Their goal is to maximize what they have by shifting the weight towards SEC while keeping the other conferences (sans Big 12) relevant to maintain a certain level of interest and viewership.

For sure, just let whoever join based on their qualifications and let them be minor league football. Then, whoever is left can join regional conferences or whatever and play college football with NIL. Seems great to me.

Yep, for a few years they would do their championship game and call the others schools puds but after several years of half the country not paying attention to them, they would try to schedule outside of their league or whatever. If I was at Fox I would be trying to get this done.

Unless PAC 12 grabs 4 Big XII schools, the best thing for the Big XII is to add 4 schools to take effect in 2025.  Form a network with PAC 12.  Have an opener with highest ranked Big XII vs highest ranked PAC 12 @AT&T stadium to bring in value to the TV contract.  Make all non-con games to be played between the two conferences, to add value to the network.  It could work and if we get the right schools we will stay a P5 conference.

The BIG network and tv contracts are owned by Fox, so what would they do.  They play PAC 12 on Thanksgiving at the rose bowl.  There is nothing to keep Big XII and PAC 12 from playing a season opener.

I thought you meant Fox wanted 3 P5 conferences in total, but I think you are meaning Fox wants PAC, Big XII and big 10 to counter ESPN's ACC and SEC.  Is that right?
