For sure, could happen, but i'm having a hard time believing OSU and Michigan are cool with less money per year to play anyone, let alone KU. Who knows though. 

Nebraska has been such an incredible success story for the Big X that you can hardly blame the conference for wanting to go back for seconds and thirds.  Who needs Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and A&M when you could have Nebraska, Kansas, and Iowa State?  I'll see the SEC's triple header of Texas vs Alabama followed by Oklahoma vs Georgia then A&M vs LSU and raise you Kansas vs Ohio State, Nebraska vs Penn State, and Iowa State vs Michigan.

I'm not running down the Big XII at all.  I live in KC and would hate to lose the tournament.  I just find it funny that Kansas and Iowa State seem to think that the Big 10 is salivating over the prospect of getting the 7th and 8th picks of teams from the Big 12.  If there were 8 schools in the original Big XII that could add value to the Big 10, the conference would have never started to crumble in the first place.  Adding Nebraska, Rutgers, and Maryland has been an unmitigated disaster.  Anyone who thinks that adding Kansas and Iowa State is the way to counter the SEC adding Texas and Oklahoma is out of their rough ridin minds.

KU and KSU aren't heading to another P5 conference absent legislative intervention to save traditional (vs. corporate) college football.  Otherwise, we're relegated to G5 status, playing God knows where.

I think P5/G5 is pretty much meaningless in the long term. Especially if SEC gets FSU and Clemson.

No other conference wants any of the remaining big12 schools. That should be pretty obvious by now. They will stay together and add a few schools.

I could also see most if not all of the other conferences kind of banding together against the sec and creating rules etc to try and curb their dominance. Ex-8 team playoff instead of 12 with five p5 champs getting a guaranteed birth and the highest non p5 school getting another, leaving only 2 open slots to limit the number of sec teams that make it into the playoffs. No doubt espn/sec has been playing chess for the past year and I think everyone else just realized it.

There won't be a P5 anymore. The nu Big 12 will become part of a G6.  So I assume a playoff berth won't be guaranteed for the B12 winner, but they'll have a decent shot at an at large if the SEC is limited in the number of teams it can get in (which I believe they are strongly fighting against).
