I don't believe that this will happen, but I don't have a hard time believing that SEC would like this to happen.  I believe that they want to form an elite new football level entirely separate from the NCAA.

There must be some crazy money on the table for OU and UT. UM/OSU/Clemson just gonna accept less money to stay "loyal" while they get left in the dust?

I wonder who is bankrolling this?  If the SEC's plan is to go big with a super conference and their own network, I wonder how they can convince the schools that the money will indeed be enough to result in an increase for everyone?

If this becomes some 32 team super league with its own championship & we fall into an 80 team level with its own championship, I’m perfectly fine with that. There will be some major, major budget corrections that will suck for a few years, but in the long run I’d be fine trying to win a championship against the Arizona St, Colorado, Minnesota, Iowa, NC State & Oklahoma States.

Fwiw I don’t think that everyone is going to 16 simply because the SEC went to 16. SEC is adding properties that every conference in the country would welcome. Adding KU/WVU/ISU etc isn’t in the same stratosphere for the big 10/ACC as OU/UT.

Super PAC is my dream scenario because it would be new and fun, but my realistic dream scenario is:

1.) SEC goes to 16, big 10 balks and stays at 14 and Pac stays at 12
2.) Add BYU and Houston? Cincy? I don’t really give a eff, I just want BYU

BYU won’t play games on Sunday’s and that’s a big negative for a lot of conferences outside of football due to other sports, conference tournaments, etc. but I think the gloves are off this time around and all the stipulations mentioned previous conference realignment are off the table. So who knows, but there’s a reason Ppl don’t want to touch BYU, other than being a weird white cult who hates caffeine, alcohol, and women.
