Probably is. Some interesting discussion on shaggy today about conference numbers and why 16 isn't a concrete limit. If using a system of four pods you can have up to 20 teams in a 9 game schedule while playing your pod and other pods on a rotating basis. You'd play everyone in the conference every three years. Interesting thought and just another reason why I don't buy anyone being left out. The big 10 model in particular would encourage as many teams as possible to increase tier three content.

I'm deducing that "Mike from Ft. Collins" called in and talked about CSU not getting into the Big 12. I don't know what he said, but generally Ramnation was disappointed that we weren't invited, but it was more of a WTF moment on why the Big 12 didn't expand. The Big 12 is a dead man walking but can still survive if they expand and extend the GOR. I really do think CSU was in top 2-3 of teams the conference was looking to add and I've heard that KSU was one of CSU's biggest proponents, FWIW.

I'd imagine it's 1.25 million a year over eight years or one lump sum payment.

Unless the article says different, it's total, not per year.

ESPN will pay Big 12 $10m total over remainder of agreement to remove pro rata clause.

I had heard 10 per year so I guess everyone is wrong. Just 10 mil for 8 years sounds so little, it's like what's the point? I'd have a hard time believing even the incredibly inept big 12 would scratch that part of their contract for such pennies and if they are, then they are really desperate for anything they can get before it dissolves.
