We are more desirable than Iowa State. I don't see Tech being more desirable either.

Iowa State is an AAU school, which makes them more desirable from a conference membership standpoint...Tech is practically guaranteed to be tethered to Tejas, which makes them less vulnerable. KU would do about anything to avoid having us hold them back from big 10. We are vulnerable.

They are pro ISU over us for a few reasons. 1. AAU 2. they've bit on the "Iowa St. is terrible, but they're expanding the stadium, so they have great fans and deserve it" talking point. 3. When the wizard dies they'll just suck again.

It's not openly "we gotta cut k-state". It's "this is how we get out of this shithole, we need to make the playoffs clean with 4 conferences, and Iowa St deserves it because they have fans that will show up as they play their role of loser."

I've said this elsewhere, but the amount of energy spent over that last 7 years, real and message board, trying to consolidate conferences, even though with 4x16 you're only net shedding 2-3 mouths to feed from the 66-67 P6 schools of 2008 is ridiculous. If they would have sat down in 2008 and said "we're going to 3 or 4 college specific channels where the conferences control them", they could have worked out paired conference networks and not ended up with these shitty 14 team conferences that aren't really conferences.

No other P5 school will touch this mess. They'd be crazy to do so.

I could see Texas using "getting UH in" as a reason to be "allowed" to "do what they want" eventually, as it relates to Texas. OU and OSU should join the SEC. The UT-less and OU-less big 12 won't be able to negotiate crap in a new deal.

The only possibility of KSU being in a major conference in the future is if the PAC makes a push for KU and doesn't want any of the religious schools (ie. Baylor, TCU, BYU). If not, then our future rival might just be WSU in some God awful mid major mashup conference.

If the SEC didn't want Florida State and Clemson what in the world makes you think they'd want OSU?

Hey dummy, no one has or will be kicked out of a major conference. If there's spots for Wake Forest, Rutgers, Baylor, Boston College, and Syracuse K-State will be better than fine.

Hey dummy, no one has or will be kicked out of a major conference. If there's spots for Wake Forest, Rutgers, Baylor, Boston College, and Syracuse K-State will be better than fine.

Do you not consider the former Big East? Because UConn and Cincinnati are both teams who were in a BCS conference, who now, are not in a Power 5 conference. If we go to 4x16 our only shot at being included is if ND still demands to stay an independent and nobody wants private religious schools.
