I get that part.  Your post somewhat sounded like add 4 teams, get 88, then contractually we have to give that 88 to the new teams.  As if it is a protection against adding crap teams (like we're going to do) that will happily take 10 per year, just to exercise that clause and create an extra 48 left over to split across the current 10.

Albuquerque is starting to really grow. New Mexico and New Mexico State could turn into Arizona and Arizona state in the big 12

Arizona and Arizona State had/have the ability to grow as large as their campuses can handle by being solid fallback options to southern California HS students.  New Mexico and New Mexico State don't. Arizona and Arizona States ability to grow massive alumni bases was a unique situation the New Mexico schools don't have.

If it includes a current p5 school it is a pipe dream. Any team from the AAC and MW + BYU is a real possibility. You're welcome for clearing up the confusion.

I don't give a crap what our current contract says, we're getting less per team or next contact if we take non power conference teams. Expanding its rough ridin' dumb as curled bangsunless it's a real school.

Do you think it would keep going up $2-$4 million every year or 15%-20% without these moves?  We don't have another Sugar Bowl kicking in.  It's going to go up now because 1st we decided to do a stupid CCG for a money grab.  Now we are adding shitty schools for a short term money grab to exploit a contract clause that lets us get paid a full share without giving it all to the new schools. That's the point everyone is making, we are having to make dumb moves and add shitty teams to try to keep up with the BigTen and SEC.

I concur.  Houston is light years better than Rutgers in every way and the Big Ten didn't bat an eye adding those douches.

UCONN went to several BCS bowl games. Central Florida did recently. Cincinnati has always been competitive. BYU has some history. Houston is hot right now. etc. The names are shitty to you, because that's what's ingrained in you, but they're not all awful choices.
